STORMBREAKER by Anthony Horowitz

“Ding dong,” 14 year-old Alex Rider opens the door to see a policeman standing outside. He is shocked to hear that his uncle has died in a car accident. However, Alex disbelieves that it was an accident especially when the cop tells him that his uncle could have survived if he had his seatbelt on. Knowing that his uncle is fixed with the idea of having a seatbelt on at all times, Alex goes looking for his uncle’s broken down car. When he finds it, he is astonished and horrified to see the bullet holes in the car’s back window. This discovery leads him to finding out that his uncle worked for the British secret service, MI6. Before Alex knows it, he is sent by MI6 to complete his uncle’s mission and to find his killers. Suddenly, Alex finds himself up to his neck in intrigue. He’s up against some of the world’s greatest criminal masterminds and with the clock ticking; Alex is running out of time. So if you’re into espionage, action, adventure, and suspense, then hold your breath, tighten your seat belts, and get ready for the ride of your life; because this book does it all.

I loved this book! The suspense was incredible like when Alex was searching all around the factory and used his gadgets to listen in on a conversation. Everything feels so realistic because Alex is just like us, an ordinary kid. The difference is, he is a spy working for the british secret service.
