BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

It all starts of with a boy named Brian who has to learn how to survive all alone in the freezing cold winter. He has to learn how hunt food and use the fur to make clothes. For example in one part of the book he has to kill a little rabbit to survive. Brian ate the flesh on that sorrowful day. Although he feels that it’s horribly mean to kill an innocent creature, that’s the way the cycle goes. Read the rest of the book to know the whole part of Brian’s journey in the cold winter.

I thought the book was great. It had parts where you can almost feel the cold and the pain of poor brain. I agree that it is not right to kill deer and rabbits but with out them he would die. Still it was a great book.
