This book is a sequel to the book A Child Called IT. A boy named Dave runs away from the house at age 9 because his mom abused him every single day. Dave seems to think no one can help him until one day at school they reported Dave because of his conditions. He came to school with “clothes” that look like rags! He had purple and pink scratches and bruises all over his body and he had an unpleasant smell. They put Dave in an adoption center with two people that are very nice to him. Then one day he had to go to court and he was going to see his mom… Dave didn’t look forward to it, But instead his mom tells him to be good and don’t get in to trouble. Years pass and Dave is in high school. He went walking and bumped into his little brother Russell. Dave just looked at Russell and saw pink and purple bruises, scratches, the clothes, and the smell.
