ONCE UPON A MARIGOLD by Jean Ferris

ONCE UPON A MARIGOLD by Jean Ferris
Christian is a young man who lives in a cave with a troll. One day, he is looking at a castle across the ocean through his telescope when he notices Princess Marigold. He immediately falls in love with her and sends her pigeon mail (like email, but sent by pigeon instead of computer). She writes back and they realize that they have a lot in common. The problem is that Christian is a commoner and Marigold is a princess. When Ed, the troll, tells Christian it's time for him to go off on his own, Christian gets a job as a servant at the castle so that he can be close to Princess Marigold. One day when he is cleaning, he overhears that Queen Olympia is planning to get rid of the princess so that she can take over the kingdom. Christian springs into action with a great plan to save her. If you want to know more about Christian's adventures, read ONCE UPON A MARIGOLD.

This is such a great book!I enjoyed reading it so much! My favorite part of the book is when Christian crosses the pond to go work at Marigold's castle where they fall in love. I could read this book over and over again.

"Once Upon A Marigold" was a great book. My favorite part was when Christian finds out that he is a someone special! It was really amazing how he was found by a troll named Edric after he ran away from home. This is a book that anyone would LOVE to read.

Ed meant to send him home. Chris liked it with Ed, the troll, and Ed’s two dogs Bub and Cate. He’d rather stay in Ed’s cave. Christian invented a telescope as a young boy since. Most of his childhood with Ed, Christian spent looking through the telescope at the royal family. When he was much older, Chris sent the girl a note using his pigeon asking what she was reading. He called it “p-mailing.” Surprisingly, she answered Greek Myths and signed her name, Marigold! After a year, Chris decided to get a job at the castle. Slowly they developed a relationship. Soon whenever they were alone they would hug each other. It made Marigold happy considering nobody touched her because when she touched a person she could read their mind but Chris didn’t care. When Ed saw this through the telescope he immediately p-mailed Christian and Chris wrote back with his explanation. When the evil Queen Olympia saw this she through Christian and Ed and the dogs in the dungeon thinking he was p-mailing someone to make a plan to take over her! To top it all Marigold was getting married to some idiot because she blew off every other prince. Because this prince (Sir Magnus) has no kingdom he will move in with Marigold and Queen Olympia is not OK with this. She is planning to kill Marigold and King Swithbert so she can rule! When Chris tries to stop the wedding after his breakout with Ed Bub and Cate he gets a bullet in his chest! Will Christian and Marigold get married? Will Chris even stay alive? To find out read Once Upon a Marigold.
