THE SILVER CROWN by Robert C. O'Brien

The Silver Crown is about a girl named Ellen Carolls and on the day of her birthday she received a Silver Crown made of the softest material but as shinny as real silver. When she was walking to school and she heard fire engines going up the street she wasn’t worried because this was common to happen in the country side. But as the fire engines were heard close and she got a little worried so she went to go check out where they were. When she arrived at the fire she realized it was her house when she went to go look for her family she realized they were gone. As she wanders around the city she knows no one around and she finds herself alone hungry, tired and thirsty. But she has a plan to go visit her aunt Sarah in Kentucky. Wandering around she buys a loaf of bread with the only money she had $1.26 and she is alone and only has her purse and crown. A young man passing gives her a ride to Kentucky before that she heard a gun shot and a man passing in a green hood was holding a pistol. As they were riding many adventures happened to her even though she is sad and she knows she is a queen she still is on her way to Kentucky. Will she ever go to her throne she thinks she has and will this mysterious man dressed in green stop following her?

I like this book because it has a lot mysteries happening and it has a lot of descriptions. I liked the suspense and wanted to find out what would happen next all the time. The book is sad humorous and a thriller I couldn’t put this book down.
