STRING MUSIC by Rick Telander
Robbie Denwood is an 11 year old boy who lives with his unhappy mother and argumentative sister. He is the 11th man on the school basketball team and doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere. The only place he feels secure is in his secret fort in the woods with his salamander, spider and dreams of being a famous basketball star some day. One day he has enough of the screaming and accusing that goes on at home and runs off to watch the Thunders, his favorite basketball team, play. He doesn’t have enough money to buy a ticket so he gets one from a scalper that turns out to be fake. Now the real adventure starts because he gets to meet and become friends with the star of the team, Jasper Jasmine.
