This book is about a boy named Jeff Bussey living in 1861. He wants to join the union army and fight in the Civil War but, he needs to take care of his family. When his dad lets him go he learns about starvation corrupt officers and the gripping pain of losing his companions and possibly the love of his life. When he has to choose between joining the south or staying with the union his decision could decide the fate of the Civil War.
Will he join the south or go back to the north?
