Then tragedy strikes and the van den Meer head woman dies. Margarethe instantly marries Cornelius van den Meer and becomes the new wife. So now Iris has a new stepdad and new stepsister named Clara whose beauty is overwhelming. An invitation arrives for the Queens ball. Clara refuses to go but they persuade her to. Clara gets to the ball in her dazzling gold gown and steals the spotlight of the prince’s heart.

My favorite part was part 5 The Ball. Clara arrived at the ball in her gold dress and everyone’s eyes were set on her. Clara was supposed to be unseen. The prince spends the most time with her and everyone is jealous. The Queen rushes out yelling. No one can understand what she’s saying. Then she takes a deep breath and blurts out ……. Chaos erupts and everyone panics. Read the book to find out what happens next.
