The People of Sparks is the second Book of Ember. The main characters, Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow, led their people up from the ground and discovered a new land. At first they didn’t know that light comes from the sky, what seasons were, or that the sky is blue. To them our world is strange. Soon the people of Ember came across a small village that has no electricity, called Sparks. The village is on the edge of prosperity when they agree to take in the Emberites for six months and teach the people of Ember everything they need to learn in order to survive. People from both villages don’t like the agreement so they try to force the villagers to change their minds with many different attempts (they don’t work together). My favorite part is when people start thinking about a war breaking out, and threats being sent from village to village. Will anyone see through these people who don’t like the agreement?
