The House of the Scorpion is full of suspense, adventure, and humor. The main character is Matt, who was cut out from a cow. He is also an ‘eejit’ which is someone or something that has a computer chip put into its brain when it is born. Matt is also a clone that was cloned from El Patron, a powerful drug lord. Celia is the caregiver who Matt has to live with for six years. My favorite part was when Matt has to escape from the doctors and bodyguards that want to kill him. They want to kill him because El Parton died, which leaves Matt with no power. Matt meets Maria who is Senator Mendoza’s daughter. Senator Mendoza doesn’t want Maria playing with Matt because he is an eejit. Everyone hates Matt except for El Patron, Celia, and Matt’s bodyguard Tam Lin.
