Timothy of the Cay by Theodore Taylor

Timothy of the Cay is about a blind boy named Phillip and a man named Timothy. The first part talks about how Phillip was rescued from the Cay. He finally hears his parent’s voice for the first time ever since the Hato (the ship that he was on when a German U-boat torpedoed it). When he goes home he trips over every thing since he is blind. He receives word that there is a doctor that can get his sight back that is in New York. The second part of the book is about Timothy before and on the Hato. He lives in the small town of Back o’ All. He finds a cabin boy that broke his leg falling off a ladder. Is this finally his chance to go out to sea or will someone else take his place? And will Phillip get his sight back or will he die trying to? Read Timothy of the Cay to find out.

I read this book. It was pretty interesting but I wouldn't want to read it again. There were too many sad events LIKE when Timothy died and when Phillip goes blind because the Germans bombed the ship he was on.

I've read this book before and I would love to read it again because I thought it was intresting how phillip survived blind on a cay alone when timothy died and still was alived when they rescued him. I would've never surived that even if i wasn't blind so that's cool how he did that.

In reading class I read the Cay it is a very excitig book . The auther makes you fell as if you where there. Some chapters are very scary like when there was a hurrica and evry thng was being blown away Timothy and Plipa had to hold on to a tree bark to save there live but Timothy sadly died becuses every thing that was blownn away and was hiting him but he saved Philepa live. From, Nyasha.

I read this book. This book was sad. Timothy died and Phillip was alone on the Island. But Phillip survived by himself on Island. If you want to know all story read The Cay. My favorite part was when the plane flew ofer.

I read this book. It was cool but, it was sad at the end and I didn't expect what happened. It be cool to be Phillip and experience World War II. I would recommend to read this book.

This book is awesome. I read it in class and it has mixed emotions. They are shipwrecked on a cay. They only have the recourses around them and are barely surviving. There is a fine line between life and death.

I loved this book! It was sad, but it expressed friendship and how it could happen to anyone, but most of all it showed love. I liked the part when Timothy and Phillip became friends, but I didn't like it when Phillip went blind and something bad happens to Timothy! But overall it was an outstanding book and I would definitely like to read it again.

When I picked up this book, I couldn't put it down; I'd definitely read it again. From the interesting twists and turns, to the lesson this book implies, this book a must-read. I loved how you could tell the difference between Phillip's personality in the beginning, and near the end. That's the best thing about the book in my opinion. The relationship between Timothy and Phillip is a special friendship that even predjudice can't come between.
